A scale model of an office building is 3' x 2' x 5' (length, width, height). If the actual building has a length of 45 feet, what is the volume of the actual building?

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

To start, what's the ratio we can get knowing that the actual length is 45 ft?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, i've never used this website before, so it took me awhile to type back. Would the ratio be \[1: \sqrt{2}?\]

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Keep it in whole numbers please, and don't worry, you'll pick it up quick, I'm sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I figured it out. Thank tyou tho.(:

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Alright. What's your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 102,150 cubic feet.

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

That's really close to what I got, what did you do to get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My teacher explained it to me. He didn't wright it down or anything. Sorry.

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Ok, then I'll trust him. If you're curious though, I did (3x15)x(2x15)x(5x15)=101,250

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you on OdysseyWare? Cause if you are that is one of the answers on there too.

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

I don't know what that is, so no. Is that an online class software?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I failed my geometry class, so I have to take it online to get my credits back.

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Ok. If you have any more questions in the future, just mention me with "@noseboy908" and I'll help as soon as I can if needed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

Welcome! Oh, and you may have seen it before now, but you see that blue "Best Response" button on the right of my responses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

In the future, if someone helps you, consider hitting that. You can only choose one person to give it to, but it helps with the level system on here. More medals helps level yourself up, which shows others how much you've worked on the site. Try it for yourself, click on "TayaDenise22" on the top right of the page. You can see your level and other information.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you so much!

OpenStudy (noseboy908):

See ya around!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bye.
