OpenStudy (anonymous):

If a + 1 = b, then b > a true or false

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

What kind of numbers are a and b? Does the problem statement tell us?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the whole equation, the question asked if this equation is true or false. There is no numbers for A and B

geerky42 (geerky42):

b is one more than a

geerky42 (geerky42):

So which is bigger? a or b?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I was hoping it would say if they were Real Number or Whole Numbers or Natural Numbers. Too bad. Poor question, otherwise. Not all types of numbers are "Ordered" like that. Any way, it probably means Real Numbers and geerky42 is on the right track.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooo it's false?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

If Billie has 3 apples and Maggie has 3+1 = 4 apples, who has more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maggie

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

So, b had better be greater than a, or Maggie is severely confused.
