Jaipal drew a triangle that had coordinates (1, –2), (4, –2), and (1, –4). He reflected the figure across the x axis. What are the coordinates of the new figure? (–1, –2), (–4, –2), and (–1, –4) (–1, 2), (–4, 2), and (–1, 4) (1, 2), (4, 2), and (1, 4) (2, –1), (2, –4), and (4, –1)

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

When you are reflecting something over the x-axis, the y-axis tends to change. So basically, you are to find the opposite of the number that is in the y-coordinate.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Additionally, the x-coordinate will remain the same because it will be just over the same axis.
