I NEED HELP: Write a concurring or a dissenting opinion on this case; Rhode V Chapman (1981) held that the eighth amendment's prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment is not violated when prison authorities house to inmates in a cell built for only one inmate.

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Woah you give me a book with alot of stuff. I just need an opinion; either you disagree or agree with this case. and why

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Or someone to at least get me started on this

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

@iambatman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay hank on and let me look at it alittle bit more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hang

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i agree because now their is a restriction against inmates being able to get to gether amd make plans, hurt others ect...

OpenStudy (jumperman):

I agree with it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you thing @timaashorty

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

You're reason is supporting the 8th amendment not the choice of the choice of the prison authorities. You actually really helped, but I'm still confused if putting two inmates which is only for one inmate violates the 8th amendment..

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Jumberman can you please give me your reason?

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

oops i only meant to put choice one time *

OpenStudy (jumperman):

Hold on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill look some more for ya

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Alright thanks (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Eighth Amendment prohibits "cruel and unusual punishment" and thus imposes constitutional limits on the methods and conditions of criminal punishment and confinement. Furthermore, the Court held that the definition of cruel and unusual punishment must be based on evolving and contemporary "standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wish i could help more

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

You actually helped alot. thank you so much (:!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem. if i can i will and if im here i will

OpenStudy (jumperman):

The Constitution is still in play. The constitution was not meant to be broken, if it is, there would be no United States. That is why I agree.
