Can a binary relation be both transitive and intransitive? This left me with doubts for example: A={0,1,2,3}, R={(0,1),(0,2)} So I know is not reflexive and symmetric but it's transitive. On the other hand I think is also ireflexive and asymmetric but also intransitive by default. Is there any contradiction here...?

Miracrown (miracrown):

No I don't see any contradiction. It is true that a relation can be both transitive and intransitive.

vacuous? :)
