OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

For what x-value(s) does cos(x) = -1? A. -360° and 360° B. neither -360° nor 360° C. -360° D. 360

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@iPwnBunnies The answer is C, right?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Nope. 360 degrees and -360 degrees are the same as 0 degrees. They're just coterminal angles, is the correct term. I may be wrong about that. But if you trace all 3 angles, it'll be the same position on the xy-coordinate plane. The cosine of 0 degrees is 1.Therefore, the cosine of 360 and -360 degrees are also 1.
