Read the line from “Damon and Pythias.” “‘Only through sheer determination and persistence have I arrived before Damon is wrongly put to death for my crime.’” What theme does it most illustrate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Answer A: It is important to remain loyal to our friends. B: Sometimes we have to make hard choices to help our friends. C: Sometimes it may be hard to make the right choice. D: Evil is always punished.

I'm currently leaning towards C, but I'm really not sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think A. Because without loyalty to friendship the story goes no where. If you do not remain loyal to the friendship and do right by it then the story goes no where. But then C looks good as well. I know isn't D and I'm pretty sure it isn't B but I lean towards A and C.

Yes, I agree. However, they're asking specifically about the passage Does this change anything to you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The passage also doesn't state that he's a friend, so I think it's C Do you agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't want to direct you incorrectly. I am 50/50 on this. You are correct in that it doesn't direct you towards the idea of "friendship" in the passage. I am honestly unknowing of the correct answer. :-( Bump it and see who else can weigh in. :-)
