OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you solve this? (8+√5)(8-√5)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\large\color{blue}{ \bf C~o~n~j~u~n~g~a~t~e~s}\)

OpenStudy (phoenixfire):

Expand the brackets. \((a+b)(a-b)\) You need to multiply each of the terms in the first bracket with each of the terms in the second. \((\color{red} a+b)(\color{red}a -b ) => a^2\) \((\color{red} a+b)(a \color{red}{-b} ) => -ab\) \(( a+\color{blue}b)(\color{blue}a -b ) => ab\) \(( a+\color{blue}b)(a \color{blue}{-b} ) => b^2\) Now you add them all together. \(a^2-ab + ab + b^2=?\)
