Question

I've written basic character sheets for two new characters I've come up with. Judging from it (and any other details I will supply upon asked), are these characters too powerful?

Lividenya—
Sex: Female.
Age: Seventeen.
Hair Color: Orange.
Eye Color: Green.
Traits: Bored, lonely, and somewhat pessimistic. The more she explores, the more open and happier she becomes.
Stats: Very Weak Defense, Speed, Attack, and HP. Very Strong Special Attack and Special Defense.
Skills: Drawing, though she lacks creativity and determination. Depictukinesis (Art Manipulation).
Wings: Glass.

Xenophon—
Sex: Male.
Age: Fifteen.
Hair Color: Black.
Eye Color: Blue.
Traits: Easygoing (for the most part; see end of Traits), stubborn, blunt, and kind. Wants to go on adventures, but tends to become paranoid when actually doing so.
Stats: Weak HP. Average Defense, Attack, Special Attack, and Special Defense. Very Strong Speed.
Skills: Soaring Speed, in which he is very fast. Audiokinesis (Sound Manipulation).
Wings: Feathers, light blue.

Then I should probably explain the setting, especially for why "Wings" is on there.

The two characters Lividenya and Xenophon live in a town where everyone has wings. The Kinesis Powers won't be obtained until they go on an adventure, but drawing and speed are skills they had already.

Lividenya, because of her glass wings and fragile body, is very weak, except until her Kinesis Power comes into play.

Xenophon is very speedy, but otherwise average when it comes to how many hits he can take, and how many he can dish out (Stats).

If this is a different world, then I suppose the character descriptions (like orange hair and wings) aren't too odd. Do you have any other characters and are you writing a novel?

Ah, orange hair basically means redhead. Not like Ichigo's (of Bleach) hair.

So far, it's just them, since the idea is still in its beginning stage. And yes, I am. I'm still working on the first chapter, though.

It seems like a cool concept. I love fantasy myself, especially when done right. What will be the main idea? And have you written any background histories on your main characters yet?

The main idea won't be anything too fancy, I think. This novel, like any other story I make, starts out with me just starting to write words on paper and forming a idea. This is actually "Untitled III", because I've wrote two other things before it not too long ago. It's still in those beginning stages, but I do have a little bit of it done.

But from what I have now, I think I'll just have the main idea be Lividenya getting out of the house and finally doing something other than just draw--she's never really left her house, because she's ashamed at how weak she is, being unable to play sports or, well, do anything other than draw all day.

And Xenophon is basically the person that gets her food, because she can't work. He takes her drawings and sells those to buy the food (although sometimes he'll throw in his own money). So one of the big points will be Lividenya becoming Xenophon's friend (as she always has him leave once he's done getting the groceries in).

At least, that's what I'm thinking of right now. I'll try to finish the first draft tonight so you can read it, if you'd like to.

Actually...thank you for asking that. You just helped me realize something really cool that I could do; I'm going to use third person, focusing on everyone's actions, but only Lividenya's thoughts. As Lividenya starts to open up, we'll gradually start to hear the thoughts of the character(s) she's opening up to, as well.

Oh, I actually thought the opposite and that it would be cooler to hear Xenophon's thoughts as the lady he's been working for begins to open up to him, since he seems the outgoing and happy one, which is always cool to read. But I suppose it works either way. And I think you should get some sleep dude. But if you do finish the draft, I would love to read it :D

Also, do you have a sub-plot planned? Cause most books don't just have one plot. Like, the other people they interact with?

I won't be able to get sleep until much later, honestly.

That's what'll happen as time goes on. The better their relationship, the more we can hear of both sides. But now I'm thinking of doing something EVIL because of it (having something screw up the relationship later on, possibly).

You know, though, when I started, I thought of including romance. But now I'm thinking of having them have very close, but platonic feelings for each other, instead.

That, I'll have to develop more. But now that I think of it, I might have Xenophon getting alienated by someone (other than Lividenya) at some point. Perhaps the entire town.

Oh wow, that sounds really awesome. And yeah, probably platonic feelings, especially if it's an adventure story or something like it. If you make a sequel, best put the romance in that.
