OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of these polymers acts as an energy storage molecule? A) Carbohydrates B) Protein C) DNA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

protien :)

OpenStudy (somy):

tell me your choice first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I said A .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I dunno . . .

OpenStudy (somy):

okay, but can u say why u thought its A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cuz it sounded good lol im not good at science . . not good AT ALL . .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DNA holds all the genetic material so it cant be that and carbohydrates turn into energy so really protien is the only one left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried it , it said wrong . . .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh.. then carbohydrates. That is a bit weird.

OpenStudy (somy):

i thought of A also though

OpenStudy (somy):

i mean for humans glycogen is stored form of energy

OpenStudy (somy):

and its carbohydrate

OpenStudy (somy):

in case of protein, protein doesn't give any kind of energy only types of energy stored would be either carbohydrate or fat

Polymerization and the break down of a polymer are two opposite reactions. What role does a water molecule play in both of them? A) A water molecule is released during polymerization , which helps in the formation of a bond , and it is added during the break down of a polymer , which helps in breaking the bond . B) Blah blah blah and it is released during the polymer instead of adding . C) Blah Blah Blah water doesn't play a role . . .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A I am pretty sure this time but I would wait on someone else to answer also

OpenStudy (somy):

i told u in previous question

OpenStudy (somy):

when u break a big molecule, u need to add water when u want to make a big molecule out of small ones, u need to remove water

OpenStudy (somy):

so what do u think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought of B for this one .

OpenStudy (somy):

i don't really get Bluh bluh bluh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ooh , its saying the same thing .

OpenStudy (somy):

polymerization is formation of a BIG molecule and break down of polymer is formation of small molecules

OpenStudy (somy):

so what could be the right choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B) A water molecule is added , and it is released during the break down . . C) A water molecule is added but doesn't play any role in the break down .

OpenStudy (somy):

water molecule is added to what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its just added during polymerization .

OpenStudy (somy):

read the options carefully

OpenStudy (somy):

and read what i said carefully also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So b ?

OpenStudy (somy):

no..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then A ?

OpenStudy (somy):

A water molecule is added , and it is released during the break down . .

OpenStudy (somy):

water is released? during break down?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A ?

OpenStudy (somy):

bingo :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It cant be C because C says it doesn't play any role so it must be A ! !

OpenStudy (somy):

yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME SOMY OMG THANK YOU , THANK YOU , THANK YOU ! ! !

OpenStudy (somy):

its A because during Polymerization we remove water and it results in formation of a bond we add water to polymer and it results in breaking down of bonds

OpenStudy (somy):

you are always welcome :)))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just saved my life and my grade ! !

OpenStudy (somy):

i did't really do anything :) i lead you and you on your own chose the answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Youre amazing .

OpenStudy (somy):

owh thanx :*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha :*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem !
