A job pays a salary of 30,00 the first year, during the next 12 years the salary increases by 8%, what is the total lifetime salary over a span of 13 years?

Please help? Can someone check my math? I have 644,859 when I round to the nearest dollar. I have rounded too much?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

so we can start off with 3,000 dollars because that will be the first year pay. now within the next 12 years we have an increase of 8%. this 8% should be of the 3,000 meaning that you have to do 3,000*.08 (decimal of 8%) to get the dollar increase. you can finally add that to the first year pay of $3,000.

I did that. I appreciate your help. I worked out the amount and have 644,859 as the answer. They are very particular and wish for you to wait until you added everything up to round. I am asking if it is possible that someone could check my math. :-)
