Match the inequality with the solution. TERM: z + 6(z + 3) < -10 5z + z + 4 > 28 4( z + 1) < 20 -5z + 1 < 13 - 2z DEFENITION: z < -4 z > -4 z < 4 z > 4
solve for z, do you know how to solve it was an equal sigh instead of an inequality
I kinda do...I think I do, but I didnt get any of those answers when i did the problems
There is only 1 difference when dealing with inequalities.. When you multiply or divide both sides by a negative number, you flip the less than sign to greather than sign
z + 6(z + 3) < -10 z+6z+18<-10 7z<-10-18 z<-28/7 Z<-4
Why don't you try doing the others
I got Z > -4 because you said to flip the signs
We did not multiply by a negative number, there is no need for flipping
Ohhhh!!!
I get it, thats like the multiplying negatives & positives rule in a way...
i guess. It just kind of makes sense
if you have -a<-b, and a and b are positive integers so -a and -b are negative for sure.. then you know that for i.e -5 <-4 but 5 is a greater than 4 so when you multiply bothsides by -1 a>b, we know if -a<-b then on the positive part a should be greater,,,
Alright, thanks :D
okay, just ask me if you need any more clarification on it. I know a good way to visualize it if it needs anymore clarification.
