Which of the following best describes a chart of the number of tomatoes on a tomato plant each morning? discrete and linear discrete and non-linear continuous and linear continuous and non-linear

By definition, discrete means individually separate and distinct. If you are looking at the same tomato plant, then this is not the case, because, assuming you do not pick the tomatoes until rip which does not always happen every day, you will have days that show the same results, so discrete is out. Linear implies that you have one after the other or multiples of a constant, which is possible but again there will be days when the results are the same. This also does not account for days when you get several new tomatoes on the same day, therefore, it may be linear, but usually will be non-linear.
