Do we get to use Complex Numbers? Does \(\sqrt{-6}\) exist?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Well, if it all exists, what's stopping you from simplifying it? \(\sqrt{-6}\sqrt{-18} = \sqrt{-6}\sqrt{-6(3)} = \left(\sqrt{-6}\right)^{2}\cdot \sqrt{3} = -6\sqrt{3}\) What is it in there that you find mystifying?
