Then all you need to do is raise all possible answers to the power of 4 to see which yields the correct answer. 

Or just raise 2401 to the 1/4 power.

There are dozens of online calculators, including Google.

I am not a huge fan of Wolfram because it does not always get the odd roots of negatives properly and has some other gotchas that you just have to know to use it in all situations.

Graphing calc's are invaluable in my opinion. Plus on exam's I haven't met a professor yet who is okay with me logging online!

Yah.  I have had three different calculators for college classes because different professors had different restrictions on what was allowed.

With the Windows Calculator, wheee:

It is odd, divide by odds.
2401/3=800.3333bla so no a prime factor.
not a 0 or 5 ending, so skipped 5
2401/7=343
343/7=49
I know 49 is $7^2$ so... see where I am going?

Another tip with this sort of question is that you have 4 options.  Using those as the source of the prime factors you try is a really good idea.  And of you don't know all the primes, no big worry.  They usually only use the first few in lower grades.  2, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 13 cover about 95% of questions.  If you run into an odd question that seems to need a higher prime factor, just search for a list of primes.  There are several lists of the first 100, 1,000, and 10,000 primes on the web.
