I am having problems with an involved problem and cannot figure out how to calculate it correctly. I am to use the Gauss Jordan Method. There was a typo on the problem originally but now the teacher fixed that: x-5y+4z=1 3x-2y+3z=-2 We are to give the solution with z arbitrary

Anyone have any ideas on how to use a calculator to arrive at the correct solutions?

OpenStudy (imer):

You put the equations in form of matrix and start row reducing.

I have tried that with some of the on line calculators but none have where I can subtract.

Try this, with 2 rows and 4 columns. http://www.gregthatcher.com/Mathematics/GaussJordan.aspx
