With respected to viruses: Answer a. bacteriophage T4 has a single-stranded RNA genome. b. HIV is a retrovirus, and its single-stranded RNA genome can be reverse transcribed into DNA in a host cell. c. animal viruses such as the influenza virus can infect both animal cells and bacterial cells. d. the lytic cycle involves the insertion of viral DNA into the genome of a host cell.
@aaronq gew Q's left to make sure, would this one be C?
i dont know enough about viruses :S i mean, B sounds right, C doesnt so much because bacterial viruses are called bacteriophages... i can conclude that D is not right. lol
@shrutipande9
haha good call^
@aaronq quick question is a operon found typically in most eukaryotes and prokaryotes?
they're more common in prokaryotes, but have been found in eukaryotes too
hopefully @shrutipande9 can come save us here soon L:)
as aaronq said rightly C is incorrect...D is also wrong because lysogenic cycle involves insertion of DNA and not lytic. A is wrong because T4 has double stranded DNA so aaronq is absolutely right..B is the answer! make a note that HIV has 2 copies of this single stranded RNA
