PLEASE HELP!!!! A motorcycle can travel 70 miles per gallon. Approximately how many gallons of fuel will the motorcycle need to travel 60 km? [1 mile = 1.6 km] 0.2 0.5 0.8 1.4

OpenStudy (imstuck):

the first thing you need to do is convert the miles to kilometers, then it's smooth sailing from there. Can you do that? How many kilometers are in 70 miles? If you can't set up the conversion, I can help with that too.

There are 112 km in 70 miles, right?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Yep. So if you can go 112 kilometers on 1 gallon of gas, how many gallons will it take to go 60 kilometers? Keep in mind that 60 is less than 112, so if you can go 112 on 1 gallon, it will take less than 1 gallon to go 60 km, right? What portion of 1 gallon will be used?

I got 0.53571428... So is it C 0.5?

@IMStuck ?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Yes, it is! Good job!

Thanks :)
