Hint: If you paid a total of $375, and the installation fee was $50, how much of that $375 payment went to covering the monthly phone charges? Divide that result by $25 (why?).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

375-50 of installation = 325 <- this is her phone bill Phone bill/$25 monthly= # of months 325/$25= 13 months That's how I got my answer!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let y = total cost let x = number of months 50 installation fee 375 = 25x + 50

@mathmale

Solve for x.

^Thank you all :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Felix820 what? o-o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jiji501 why "y"? "y" went bye-bye! LOL!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH! I C! OK!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y is the dependent variable. It doesn't have a choice to be the total cost.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get it. Was just having a little pun fun!:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel-x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow, okay no more jokes for me. I'm too bad at this.
