2x-y=2 x-2y=1 determine any point of intersection

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

take the second equation and solve for \(x\) and you get \(x=1+2y\) now take the first equation and sub this in for x \(2\color{blue}{x}-y=2\) becomes \(2(\color{blue}{1+2y})-y=2\) can you solve this for y?
