A boy worked as a shepherd in a field. He sat all day long staring at the flock with nothing to do. One day, he had an idea to stir up some excitement. He cried out, “Wolf! Wolf!” The townspeople ran to assist him only to find out there was no wolf. The boy was pleased with the flurry of excitement he had caused. An hour later, the boy again cried, “Wolf! Wolf!” The townspeople again ran to assist him only to find there was no wolf. An hour later, the boy saw a wolf. It growled and bared its teeth. “Wolf! Wolf!” the boy cried out for help, but no one came to assist him, and he was eaten. What are the character’s actions in this story? What motivated the character’s actions? What is the outcome?
This answer is actually based mostly on opinion. Start with the first one. What do you think the character's actions were in this story?
The boy was in need of entertainment so he created some. He alarmed townspeople and lied for personal gain.
His actions were motivated from lack of self control really and obviously extreme boredom. The results were that no one trusted him when he cried out genuinely.
