Which of the following is the inverse of the relation {(1, 5), (2, 6), (1, 7), (4, 8)}? A. {(1, 5), (2, 6), (7, 1), (8, 4)} B. {(5, 1), (6, 2), (7, 1), (8, 4)} C. {(2, 6), (1, 5), (8, 4), (7, 1)} D. {(1, 7), (1, 5), (2, 6), (8, 4)}

not sure with this one i think A but let someone answer as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The inverse is just the x and y values switched around. So for the first bracket, the co-ordinates are 1,5 so the inverse would be 5, 1. The answer is B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is B. Reason is: for the function: y=x^2 the inverse function is x=+/- sqrt(y) The forward function has the following points: (-2,4), (-1,1), (0,0), (1,1) and (2,4) The inverse function is the following points: (4,-2), (1,-1),(0,0),(1,1) and (4,2). I agree with adriana-98

What about this? What is the a value of the following function? A.1/3 B.1/2 C.3 D.2

what class is this for?
