Branches of Politics? can it be branches of government ?

So here is the case, Ive been searching the web for , branches of politics, and no close results to what I'm looking for. but , everytime I search branches of politics it replaces it with branches of government. Can I assume that to be an alternative answer ?

Well, it is going to depend on what you are looking for as a branch.  Do you mean a type of job or set of duties?  If so, then yes, it is branches of government.  On the other hand, if you are looking for overall viewpoints and directions you want political parties.
