identify the vertical asymptotes of f(x)=x+6/x^2-9x+18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok first factor the denominator: x^2-9x+18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x^2-9x+18 factors into (x-3)(x-6) Then to find the vertical asymptote, set them equal to 0 so x-3=0 and x-6=0 Simplify them so x=3 and x=6 and those are your vertical asymptotes
