how do you use the distance formula and the slope to classify a quadrilateral

OpenStudy (precal):

Welcome to openstudy. The distance formula gives you the distance between 2 points. In geometry, we are always concern with the length of the sides of the quadrilaterals. Ie if all sides are equal then the quadrilateral is a square. We use the slope formula to tell you if the sides are going up or down and I am pretty sure to find perpendicular lines. so if the slope is 3 and -1/3 then we know that those two lines are at a 90 degree angle and we care a lot about that in geometry.
