OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would i do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide 75 by 4

18.75

Map scales are ratios, so you can use a proportion to solve this problem. 1 inch is to 75 miles as 2.25 inches are to x miles. As an equation, you write it as: \(\dfrac{1}{75} = \dfrac{2.25}{x} \) Now cross multiply and solve for x.
