Okay so here's the first thing I have to do.
1.Create a quadratic function, f(x), in vertex form. The a should be between 4 and –4, the h will be your birth month, and the k will be your birth day. Write your equation below.

ok... so the standard form is

\[y = a(x - h)^2 + k\]

subsitute your value for h, and k, then pick a value for a thats between -4 and 4...

you could pick zero and make it easy... but try a = 1

then distribute and simplify
