What is the equation of a vertical line passing through the point (2, -3)?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Do you have any ideas here? It's ok if you don't, it's easy enough to find out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no idea whatsoever ): @IMStuck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you graph the point, you can draw a vertical line through it. You should notice that if you pick other points on the vertical line, they all have a coordinate in common. That coordinate is going to be what your line is equal to, it will be the x or y of the coordinate = the number you see repeating.

|dw:1403552035651:dw| A vertical line has an equation like x=a.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x = (positive number) , not a negative @math&ing001

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

It can be positive or negative. It's easy to figure out though, just look at the value of x in your point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x =2 ?

@math&ing001

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Yep !

thank youuu @math&ing001
