What is the reference angle for -15?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is a reference angle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In standard position, the reference angle is the smallest angle between the terminal side and the x-axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then add \(90\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but wouldn't -15 be closest to 360 since it's in quadrant 4 and that's the closest x-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

smallest angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you please explain what you mean by that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want the smallest number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so add \(90\) and get \(75\) as the reference angle at least i think that is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe i am wrong maybe it is just \(15\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thanks for the help
