THERES A NICE SHINY MEDAL IN IT FOR YOU ;P
The box plots show student grades on the most recent exam compared to overall grades in the class: two bar graphs shown. The top one is labeled Class. Minimum at 68, Q1 at 71, median at 84, Q3 at 89, maximum at 100. The bottom bar graph is labeled Exam. Minimum at 55, Q1 at 76, median at 85, Q3 at 94, maximum at 100. Which of the following best describes the information about the medians? The class and exam medians are almost the same. The exam median is much higher than the class median. The class and exam Q3 are the same, but the exam has the lowest median. The low outlier on exams pulls the median lower.
dang can't imagine this. sorry,
imagine?
@Yahoo!
yeah can't work this out, I was good at this before xD sorry man
np
hmm wait, The class and exam medians are almost the same.
@WhisperZ what do you mean by "outlier" ?
im confused by this whole problem mate.... one sec lemme check somethin
I could conclude that all answers is correct except for the 3rd one which states that both Q3 are the same. Problem is the question wants us to choose whats best to describe about the medians.
and the statement "The low outlier on exams pulls the median lower" , I'm thinking that, is there a formula which uses other values that affect the median, or is everything a given value?
ou of those 3 i came up with A as being the most correct
out of those i mean
Statement B is also true, but I would agree with you on A. :)
thanks
i appreciate the help
Well goodluck to you too :)
