x f(x) 3.0 4.0 3.5 -0.2 4.0 -0.8 4.5 0.1 5.0 0.6 5.5 0.7 For the given table of values for a polynomial function, where must the zeros of the function lie?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

The zeros of the function are where the graph crosses the x axis. here it crosses the x axis between the first two points and the third and fourth points. Do you have to know exact coordinates of y when x = 0?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Because without a function to plug in 0 for x, there's no way to find out exactly what the y value is when x is 0. That's the best I have to give you. If you need clarification understanding it let me know.

i have the answer choices. ill put them below.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Oh, ok! Very good!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

between 3.0 and 3.5 and between 4.0 and 4.5 between 3.5 and 4.0 and between 4.0 and 4.5 between 4.0 and 4.5 and between 4.5 and 5.0 between 3 .5 and 4.0 and between 4.0 and 4.5 between 3 .5 and 4.0 and between 5.0 and 5.5

OpenStudy (imstuck):

It's the first one. I drew the graph and here's what I got:
