Which is the area of the figure? A trapezoid has two vertical lines through it, sectioning the shape into a rectangle in the middle and a right triangle on either side of the rectangle. The leftmost triangle has base twelve centimeters and height 8 centimeters. The rectangle has base 9 centimeters and height 8 centimeters. The rightmost triangle has base 6 centimeters and does not have the height labeled. two hundred sixteen centimeters squared one hundred ninety-two centimeters squared one hundred sixty-eight centimeters squared one hundred forty-four centimeters squared

I'd have to see a picture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can help now =D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i totally forgot u aksed me this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u should have tagged me once again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1403640912388:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well u have to start off by noting that none of this can be done together because there are three diffrent shapes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, much easier to work with. I'm bad with words xD So the area of the rectangle in the middle is 8cm * 9cm, which is 72 then 8cm * 12cm divided by two, so 96 divided by two will be the area of the left triangle and the triangle on the right 6cm * 8cm divided by two, so 48 divided by two is the area of the triangle on the right. Did I miss anything?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or ok nvm lol i gues she will help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can take it over if you want, i always need backup, too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i already have the answers so ill check yo work =D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kay >.< I don't have the answers, except for the area inside of the rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u dont have the answers ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? =O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol i work with the person who needs them. I get the answer before they do, but i work with them. It's easier to explain my steps, that way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two hundred sixteen centimeters squared one hundred ninety-two centimeters squared one hundred sixty-eight centimeters squared one hundred forty-four centimeters squared

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One of these is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the middle one, alone, is 96cm, the triangle on the right is 48divided by two (24) 72 + 24 = 96 the triangle on the left is 96 divided by two so 96 + 48 = 144 144 cm squared :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep :)
