The heights in inches for five student are: 60, 67, 61, 62, 58 How would the median change if a student 61 inches tall is added to the group?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

To find the median: re-order your data from smallest to largest in that order. When you have an even number of points, the median is just the middle of the data set. Now, just add 61 to your list of data (keeping it in the small to large order). Now your set has an even number of points. To find the median now, take the 2 middle points, and take their average.
