Coterminal angles are angles in standard position (angles with the initial side on the positive x-axis) that have a common terminal side. For example 30°, –330° and 390° are all coterminal. So if I have an angle whose measurement is -271 degrees just add 360 to get a positive one between 0 and 360 degrees. -271 + 360= 89 degree positive angel.
