6x - 3x - 2 = 3x - 3x + 19 -- combine like terms
3x - 2 = 19 -- add 2 to both sides
3x - 2 + 2 = 19 + 2 -- combine like terms
3x = 21 -- divide both sides by 3
3x/3 = 21/3
x = 7

6(7) - 2 = 3(7) + 19
42 - 2 = 21 + 19
40 = 40 (correct)
