I chose
7.79 x 10^4

may someone please explain where I messed up at?

I moved the decimal in the second to last spot
thus 7.9 x 10

and counted 4 zeros
7.9 x 10^4

Should I have counted EVERY space before the decimal?

its 7.79*10^4 and if you move further one place then 77.9*10^5

oh sorey..,...its power is -4 not 4..cause power is -ve when you move from left to right.
