The maltose molecule can be broken down into two individual glucose molecules with the help of an enzyme produced within a cell. Which of the following changes is most likely to slow down this reaction? Adding more maltose molecules Increasing the volume of the cell Adding more of the enzyme Increasing the pH within the cell
Hello @ilikemath50 !
hi!
The enzyme responsible for this is called as maltase
Adding more maltose would lead to sligh increase in the reaction rate since more substrate sites would be used within same time
Adding more enzyme will also increase the reaction rate since enzyme are the one responsible for catalysing the reaction
Maltase act in basic environment, so increasing the pH slightly will also increase the reaction
The one left is ??
