The Bride of Frankenstein:Critics' Review by Mark Deming The critic is basically saying that 'The bride of Frankenstein' is superior to the original in several ways because the original had such a low-budget, they couldn't afford to do the effects as well as they would have wanted to. Mr Deming seems to have enjoyed the movie with witty dialogue and finds it to be more spooky than scary, but given the time it was made, that fact is not surprising.
