Why were Archaea and Bacteria grouped together by biologists until recently ? A-They look similar B-They have very similar DNA C-They are both very ancient organisms D-They both perform the same ecological function @cherry17ann or anyone else know this ?
Simply because they look very similar. If you look at a bacteria and archaea under a microscope you wouldn't notice the difference. They do differ, but in genetic and biochemical ways, and you can't get a visual on that. Because of newly developed techniques, the difference could be understood and nowadays they're separated into groups.
