how to write a good thesis statement about my mother?
say things tht u enjoy about ur mom
Usually a thesis statement would be the last sentence(s) of an introduction paragraph to an essay. So if you're going to write something that is in essay format, you should list some things (in your thesis statement) that you'll be talking about in the next paragraphs. I hope that helps, and isn't entirely confusing, good luck!
Also, there are two parts of an introduction paragraph that need to come before the thesis statement. They're known as the "HOOK" and "BRIDGE" (the hook comes first). The hook is the writers way of grabbing the reader's attention, while the bridge connects the hook and thesis statement. Here is an example: A. HOOK: The Declaration of the United States of America firmly asserts, “All men are created equal.” B. BRIDGE: Ironically, at the time that that sentence was written and even a hundred years later, several groups of people did not have the most basic human right of freedom. African Americans and women could not own property, vote, or earn a fair wage. Countless individuals bravely fought for equality for these two groups of people. Sojourner Truth, a woman and an African American, gave her influential “Ain’t I a Woman?” speech at the Women’s Rights Convention in 1851. C. THESIS STATEMENT: Sojourner Truth uses rhetorical questions and allusions to persuade her audience to fight for equality.
Thank you Danielle_Ello I'm still confused on how to write it
I'm currently working on an essay, myself. Here is my thesis statement, for another example that might help... King uses facts, personal background, and figure of speech such as allusion, hyperbole, and irony to influence his audience to put a stop to racial segregation. I named some "tools" Martin Luther King used to write 'Letter From Birmingham Jail'. You should also list some things in your thesis statement that you will be talking about in your body paragraphs. What do you enjoy about your mother? Maybe something she does for you? For example: "My mom is very kind and always gives me advice when I need it." So in your body paragraphs you would talk about how she is kind, and how she gives you advice... Basically, your thesis statement is just an overview of what your about to tell your reader(s) about, in the rest of your essay. I hope this help now. If not let me know and I'll try again :)
