Help please??!!

@zaibali.qasmi

The volume of a cylinder is 24 cubic feet. What is the volume of a cone that fits exactly inside the cylinder? Provide an explanation and proof for your answer to receive full credit.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

What is the volume for the cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any thing more about cylinder..height or its diameter..???then it will be easy to solve..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

V = πr2h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give any thing more diamter or height...??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont get it :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simply divide the volume of cylinder by 3 to get the desired volume of cone...as formula for volume of cone is pi(r)^2h/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup, agree with zaibali

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with a simple difference of 3 in denominator to volume of cylinder...you get it..??? @Rubio101 ...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no...just 6cubic....not 0.6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to what thing..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how 24|3 =6???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how should I write it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume of the cylinder (denoted by) \(V_{c}= \pi r^2h=24 \) Volume of the cone (denoted by )\(V_{cone}=\dfrac{\pi r^2 h}{3}=\dfrac{24}{3}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simply find tha value or r^2h form volume of cylinder and put this in the formula of volume of cone at the place of r^2h...also put pi=3.14 and simplyfy it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as given by @OOOPS OKAY @Rubio101 ..??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks alot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are more warm welcome..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow, how sweet zaibali is. hihihi...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@OOOPS whats happened..?dear..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, I just admire your sweetness when you can say "you are more warm welcome". I can't hihihi... I am dry as brick, I feel shameful when saying that. hihihihi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no dear..its okay...you too more welcome for funny style...its takes with study fun +study...!!!no need to be shameful..okay..?
