Natural selection can cause less desirable traits to appear in a population. disappear in a population. arise in a population. become more common in a population.

@Gravity_Dreams What class is this for? High school level or college?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

high school

@Gravity_Dreams Does it say if you can select more than one? If not, the fact that it is high school makes me think that it is discussing the effects of decreased fitness on trait maintenance in the population. If we take this to the extreme, let us say that aa of the genes A and a alleles is lethal within 20 years in a human. How long would the "a" allele stay in the population, if it would stay? And if it would stay, would it maintain a stable number of individuals with at least one "a"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Gravity_Dreams Sorry that should be gene with A and a alleles, not "genes".

For you, less favorable traits are removed by a population via selection.
