Curtis is buying a figurine that is 6 inches high according to the box. The picture on the box is 8 centimeters high and 5 centimeters wide. What proportion could you use to determine the width of the figurine? 6 inches over 8 centimeters equals 5 centimeters over w 8 centimeters over 6 inches equals 5 centimeters over w 8 centimeters over 6 inches equals w over 5 centimeters 5 centimeters over 8 centimeters equals 6 inches over w

please help :(
You are taking ratio of two different units, you can either write it as\[ \frac{ length (cm) }{ length (inches) }=\frac{ width(cm) }{ width(inches) }\]or\[\frac{ length (inches) }{ length (cm) }=\frac{ width (inches) }{ width (cm) }\]
So what you think is the correct answer?
ok so if i choose the first method
Its is not about choosing the correct method, both are correct, you just need to look at the options and check if any option matches with any one of it.
so it would be the first one ?
d since the ratio 8/6 is picture/actual and has the same form as the 5/w on the other side all other options have something mixed up.? i think
" 6 inches over 8 centimeters equals 5 centimeters over w" it is \[\frac{ length (inches) }{ lenth (cm) }=\frac{ width (cm) }{ width (inches) }\]
and does it match with any one of the correct method I wrote?
No, its cm/cm=inches/inches, not possible either.
You are comparing the length of figurine in picture to the actual length of the figurine and same for width. There, its need to be written in form of ratio.
"B" is the correct option, please ponder over my entire posts.
8 centimeters over 6 inches equals 5 centimeters over w this is the answer ^ ? And thank yu for explaining :)
Yes, that is the answer.
thank you sooooooooooooooooo much :) could you possibly look over some of my other questions ? i will post another question and tag you in it
you would literally be saving my life :)
