i need help and will medal and or fan

Choose the equivalent system of linear equations that will produce the same solution as the one given below. 6x + 2y = -6 3x - 4y = -18 12x + 4y = -12 15x = -30 8x + 4y = -4 14x = -10 6x - 8y = -36 -6y = -42 6x - y = -15 3y = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same as the first set?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's the solution for x and y in the first set?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x+2y=-6 so, 3x+y=-3............(1) 3x-4y=-18...............(2) (1)-(2).. 5y=15 y=3 then 3x=-3-3=-6 (using 1) x=-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now put these values of x and y in the rest of the sets and find out if they satisfy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first set of equation, it satisfies, so that's an equivalent system of equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks you are a big help i think i get it now

you are most welcome!
