a baseball player throws a baseball straight up into the air, the ball leaving his hand at time t= 0.0 s. the ball reaches max height at t=1.4 s. when will the baseball return to the height from which it was released?

OpenStudy (anteater):

It should take the same amount of time to come back down to where it started as it took to go up from where it started. So, since it took 1.4 seconds after it was released to get to the top of its path, it will take another 1.4 seconds to come back down to that height. So, what would the total time be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.8?!

OpenStudy (anteater):

Yep :)

thanks! :)
