What disease is caused by Entamoeba Hystolicia?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

amoebiasis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

amebiasis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree, but it's not a given answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats odd. what are the choices?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

maybe entamoebiasis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

amoebiasis i do belive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Montezuma's Revenge Syphilis Giardiasis Valley Fever

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think we can cross out montezumas revenge and giardiasis i believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmmm, would you guys agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand why amebiasis isnt a choice its the only one that makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It does envolve alot of pooping, so you might be wrong..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i could be im not very good at this stuff but idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks like they are doing research

OpenStudy (somy):

i can't seem to find anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me too. :\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Giardiasis i think sorry if im rong i

OpenStudy (somy):

oh alright its First one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i agree i think giardiasis would be the best choice

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

I think Montezuma's revenge is your best bet

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Giardia lamblia causes giardiasis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but Montezuma's revenge is from drinking water in mexico so idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i searced it up an thats what came up and in my books so idk :? :/

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

0-5% of the time it's E. histolytica so I think that's your best bet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

searced searched

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

If we trust wiki..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol it does look correct on the wiki

OpenStudy (somy):

oh i found same thing lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wiki is a off and on correct or rong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So should I go with A? This is a bit dire since this is my last question on my final.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would go with A

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

me too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, it looks like giardiasis.

OpenStudy (somy):

well other answers don't match at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know, this one really got me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we were wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm just not sure. But with some deeper research I found it to be related to giardiasis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this question is so hard for highschool..im guessing thats what your in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, just wrapping up junior year. c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what it came up on my computer and in my books so idk lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just finished 11th i took biology in 10th and it was easier than this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thingds get harder and harder lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol true but then again im in public school and they make everything easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm just gonna go with giardiasis. Thank you guys so much! Wish I could give you all medals!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome. will you let us know what the answer is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya too bad :/ u can only give 1 i think that sucks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It won't be for a couple days, but will do!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks give the medal to kirby or branden

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k let us know

OpenStudy (somy):

idk what u found there

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

http://armymedical.tpub.com/MD0842/MD08420012.htm

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Montezuma's revenge

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I gave it to Somy since she got to me first.

OpenStudy (somy):

but what im finding is http://jid.oxfordjournals.org/content/184/3/381.long

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha the answer is a if thats correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gave dillons 1

OpenStudy (somy):

idk but i'd personally go with A

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

That's just general "diarrhea"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks bro

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do I doooo?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

A lot of parasites cause "diarrhea"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would go A all the sources point to that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think a or c lol :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just do what you feel is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup its all up 2 u just let us know what it was :P

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm asking a friend whose a vet tech since this can run in animals, too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok good idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

She said it's found in giardia, but she's double checking.

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

The other articl just lists both protoza (Giardia and E hystolytica) in the same article, but they are referreing to general diarrhea. BOth giardiasis and Montezuma's revenge are like diarrhea

OpenStudy (somy):

ok C is wrong http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/167079.php

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on..

OpenStudy (somy):

B is also wrong http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/186656.php

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The struggle is real.

OpenStudy (somy):

and D is caused by fungus Coccidioides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its a 50% its c over a and vis versa

OpenStudy (somy):

okay so basically the only option is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but her friend said c sooo idk

OpenStudy (somy):

hhhh idk then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lool, she is stumped too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol just go A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, it's A!

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites cause intestinal pain, diarrhea / constipation(Montezuma's revenge), immune depression, and skin disorders. It may also cause liver, brain or other tissue pathology. It is transmitted through direct or indirect fecal-oralcontamination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank god

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

http://www.academia.edu/4721642/Pictures_of_Parasites

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you all for the effort!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (somy):

finally its A

OpenStudy (somy):

good job!! @kirbykirby
