Well, seriously, with such a problem statement, if you do not know the Pythagorean Theorem, you're toast.  Maybe you call it something else?  Maybe you've seen it, but don't call it that?

You must solve $(20\;ft)^{2} + (32\;ft)^{2}\;=\;Path^{2}$
