Please help! Geometric sequencing!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (vlery):

what do you need to know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to make an equation.. -.-

OpenStudy (vlery):

xn = ar(n-1) use that and ask what is the 8th number in the sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@xiphoidx what vlery said is true :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how do I set it up? I just need to have it explained to me :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just use xn = ar(n-1) then like vlery said once u find the 9th number in the sequence just input that number and you get your equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8th number not ninth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you get the 8th number? (sorry... I just learned this)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry but i can thelp nymore im doind an exam myself right now just tag velry once again and fan him hopefully he's nice enough to explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ugh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry my freind :(

OpenStudy (vlery):

well first off can you find the slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um 2/7 ?

OpenStudy (vlery):

there you go now just do that to the top point and keep going up till you hit the 9th number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there aren't 9 numbers

OpenStudy (vlery):

I mean you take the point (3,9) and add the slope to that and keep adding the slope to the next number till you hit the 9th set

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I did that the slope is 7/2... the slope od the first 2 is 2/1
