@campbell_st probably has a better way of explaining the factoring but i also have a method and both will work. mine is just slightly confusing to some people

well each pair of factors give the constant and leading term when multiplied...
so check which pair results in 10x
so if you use FOIL.... see which inside + outside = 10x

FOIL is the short way of saying first, outer, inner, last

that asks you to multiply the first two terms, then the outer two terms, and then the inner two terms, and then the last two terms of your parentheses
