What is one way scientific theories and scientific laws are similar and one way they are different?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

laws and theories can both give explanations to why things are the way they are. they are different because laws have been proven and no matter how many times you test it the same thing will always occur theories are logical explanation for occurances in nature but are not yet proven example The Theory Of Evolution

Now that you know how Theories and Laws are different, do you know how they're dissimilar? Laws are things that just happen! Like the sun rises every morning. Scientist can't test why the sun rises every morning or exactly explain, it just happens; therefore, it's a law. A theory is something that is tested many times and has data to back it up. :)
